The National Jazz Museum in Harlem's Artistic Director-at Large, JON BATISTE, Has
Been Announced As The Bandleader for CBS' "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."
By: J C Lee
New York June 10, 2015 - It's so good to know that a
musician of such impeccable talent will have a
platform like this to bring great music to millions of
people around the world. He has been finding new
audiences for the
Museum in Harlem, and performing
outreach in schools and communities.  Jon Batiste
came to the museum through precisely such
connections. And beyond that, he involved himself in
charitable educational activities.  After Jon graduated
from  Juilliard, he was appointed Artistic Director at
Large, and has taken the museum's mission to
international audiences, as well as at museum
Jon Batiste
programs at Stanford University, Brigham Young University and in Cuba. Jon has also played a major
role in defining the museum's artistic vision.

He takes over that CBS late-night program on Sept. 8. Mr. Batiste, 28, grew up in New Orleans and
received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Juilliard School.
Stephen Colbert introduced him
as the new “Late Show” bandleader in an online video. In a statement Mr. Colbert said, “His music
makes the audience feel so good, we may have to install a ‘Do Not Make Love’ sign.”

While Colbert succeeds David Letterman, Batiste succeeds Paul Shaffer, who served as Letterman’s
bandleader for more than 30 years. He will be the bandleader, he’ll be backed by his current band,
which includes a saxophonist and a percussionist, as well as a tubist. Known together as Jon Batiste
and Stay Human, the band formed shortly after Batiste graduated from Julliard.

Marlon Wayans Hilariously Reveals To Me That He First Learned He Was Funny In Fourth Grade
The Brilliant, Extremely Funny, & Very Friendly Man Is In Town Promoting His Film
"A Haunted House 2"                    Opening in theaters, Friday April 18
By: Gatsby Melodi'
Pictured with reporter Gatsby Melodi', Marlon Wayans joins the room of reporters for the junket, at the Inter-Continental Hotel, Kansas
City, MO, promoting his film, which he wrote, produced, and starred in "A Haunted House 2"
KANSAS CITY April 11, 2014 - Marlon Wayans told me the first time he knew he was funny was when he was in 4th
Grade.
"They stopped kicking me out of class", Marlon humorously told me with a wide, warmly-lit grin on his face.

Marlon said he was a "jokester" because he liked to make people laugh.   He said his teacher used to always send
him to the principals office because of his joking around.   But, one day in particular he said he remembers when he
went back to class, after being in the principals office for discipline, that all the kids applauded his return, indicating
they were glad and happy to have him back there.

Marlon said, the teacher never sent him to the principals office ever again, and he continued being himself.

Marlon said that experience let him know he was funny, and accepted for his humor. It gave him feel-good feelings.
He said he knew he was funny on that day because he'd earned the approval and respect of his classmates, when
they applauded him as he was entering his 4th Grade classroom, after being in the principals office.

Marlon Wayans is such a cool dude. The wild, crazy and funnyman we love to see on TV is the same person he is to
meet.  He is very intelligent and speaks with ease -- no pretense. The brutha is real. He is very charismatic and
Marlon has such a presence.

One wonderful thing about Marlon Wayans folks don't get to see about him on TV, or in the movies, is this.  The man
has big beautiful lite color brown eyes, and they are spell-bounding.  They draw you in to him right-away.

I told
Mr. Wayans I was going to write about his lite brown eyes so all the girls, and all his fans would know about
them. He just laughed.  It is hard to believe he humbled himself when I said that to him, but he is gentle.

He told me he loves his family, especially his big brother
Keenan, and his daughter whom he talks about with grace.

Marlon's movie,
"A Haunted House 2" opens in theaters, Friday April 18, 2014.  "A Haunted House 2"  is an
American horror comedy film directed by Michael Tiddes, and starring Marlon Wayans. The film is the sequel to the
2013 film "A Haunted House".  After the ordeal he suffered with his now former girlfriend's (Essence Atkins) demonic
possession, Malcolm (Marlon Wayans) has decided to start fresh. He has a new girlfriend named Megan (Jaime
Pressly).  The film also stars other notables like
Cedric the Entertainer, and Kym Whitley.

It is a big weekend for funnyman Marlon Wayans.  Please support his genius in his film.  Give
Mr. Wayans a chance
to shine...Marlon is the producer and writer.  .
.Check out the trailer.  ..I have seen the film 7 times, and always find
something new to crack-up about..

I adore, and respect funnyman
Marlon Wayans. Thank you for the interview my new brutha.

"UNSULLIED", the Feature Film Directorial Debut of Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Defensive End and NFL Super Bowl Champion SIMEON RICE Will Open Theatrically
Nationwide on August 28, 2015
By: Bridigit Bianco'
Simeon Rice
Los Angeles July 27, 2015 - Lambert Releasing has announced that
"UNSULLIED", the feature film directorial debut of former Tampa Bay
Buccaneers defensive end and NFL Super Bowl champion Simeon
Rice, will open theatrically nationwide on August 28, 2015.

Rice, who spent six of his 12 pro seasons with the Buccaneers, was
no longer chasing quarterbacks but instead a new passion for
filmmaking. So for three weeks in November 2013, he gathered a cast
and crew together in Seminole, Fla. and began shooting "Unsullied", a
thriller he both wrote and directed.
Rice started to develop an interest in film while he was playing and in 2009, decided to enroll in the
New York Film Academy in Los Angeles to learn how to be a proper moviemaker.

“I wanted to go straight on to a program and immerse myself in it,” Rice, now 40, told For The Win in
Manhattan earlier this month. “After I retired I was like, why not? When I was playing, I basically
produced some films financially and they weren’t on the level I would like. They weren’t credible. So I
said, ‘Why don’t I just do a movie myself,'” Rice said. “I’m sick of a gatekeeper telling me what’s
allowed to be a film. I know what’s entertainment and I know what I like to watch. I’m going to make a
film for me that I would like to watch.”

He claims that he’s been told by potential distributors that the movie would either need to be re-shot
with more recognizable actors or in one case, that they would need to replace Gray with a non-black
actress to make the film more marketable. But that’s not a compromise he was willing to make.  He
cast several Los Angeles based actors in the project, including Murray Gray as the film’s heroine
Reagan Farrow, a young woman who has to fight to survive a kidnapping after her car breaks down.

He said. “I want to tell the best stories. I want to entertain people. I want to be able to tell if you like it
or if Joe Blow likes it. If the average American likes it, I appreciate that film.”
